The truth about fat in gelato

Italians are proud of their gelato. Rightly so, I would add.
But don’t you dare call it ice cream. They could be offended.
So I asked the spokespeople of the “Gelato University” (yes, it does exist) what the difference is. The answer: It has less fat – a third less than classical American ice cream.
This is why a Milanese gelateria has printed calories amount on its brochure: Compared to a cheeseburger or French Fries you get half the calories with a gelato. The same is true for cakes and other deserts.
What are you waiting for ? To get ready for the summer season you just have to eat enough gelato !
