An Italian Olive Tree meets his adoptive parents from Austria.

Andrea K. from Austria came to visit her olive tree in Umbria.

She has adopted the tree on ByItaly‘s Adopt an Olive Tree . And since she and her husband were on vacation in Umbria she took a look at her tree.

We were happy to show her around at the Antico Frantoio Paoletti in Bosco. And we learned a lot about olives: The pruning, the harvest, the climate and that one tree gives 40 or 50 kilogramm of olives, but only five to seven litres of oil.

The age difference between the “adoptive child” and their parents was rather particular: The tree is almost 100 years old, his “parents” not even half the age.
