Italian Food Specialties: Olive Ascolane – Filled Olives
Italian Food varies from region to region.
Today we had these nice “Olive Ascolane” brought over by an aunt: They are fried meat filled olives.
Olive Ascolane are a specialty from Ascoli Piceno, a beautiful small town in the “Marche” region in the centre of Italy.
You take out the pit and fill it with meat before you frie it in its breading.
If you ever come to the Marche you have to try them.
