“Il pranzo domenicale” – The traditional Italian sunday meal
Category: Culture, Curiosities, Food, Italy, Tradition
Sundays in Italy mean food. Lots of food. Families gather around the table to enjoy some nice Italian food. It starts at lunch time and it lasts for hours.
This Sunday we were invited at a friend’s house.
Our wonderfull hosts Anna and Nicoletta had cooked hours in advance. Apettizers like little parmigiano and ricotta filled pasta sfoglia, Porcini mushroom filled ravioli with black truffle on top, veal roast, artichoke sfornato and tiramisu at the end. And this is not the entire menu…
Our 4-year old put it into words: “This lunch lasts until evening”
Yes, he is right.
And it was great.
Thank you Anna and Nicoletta ! We had a wonderfull Italian Sunday lunch !
