Just saw these beautyfully colored easter eggs in a shop window and took a picture.

Only later, looking at the picture, did I find out that they are actually an Italian work of art. They are original hand carved alabaster easter eggs from Volterra.

Volterra is a beautyfull small town in Tuscany, not far away from Pisa, that is famous worldwide for their alabaster artisans who still follow the century-old traditions .
