High-rise buildings are not new. This historical skyscraper is in Perugia, Umbria, Italy.

These towers, (or early high Rise buildings) were a way for important families to show their power. Not that much different from today, if you think about it.

This one in Perugia`s Via dei Priori is one of the very few that survived the war fought by the church state against Perugia. They destroyed everything that was higher than the cathedral (duomo).
