We have to be honest: The World Pistacchio Day on February 26th is an American invention.

And, of course, it is a marketing invention.

The American Pistacchio Growers have made up a day to celebrate and promote their Pistacchios, that have been a recent introduction in the US.

But why not celebrate Italian pistacchio as well ? In Italy we have a long tradition of pistacchio – especially in Siciliy.

The slopes of volcano Etna (Sicily) are rich of sandy soils, texture and minerals, that grant “Bronte pistachio” as a superior variety of pistachio. It’s so good and fragrant that is worldwide called ‘Etna’s green gold’.

Thanks to the lava soil on which it grows gives it particular properties and a taste that other varieties of pistachio do not have. The fruit is harvested year after year by local farmers and hand-picked. Healthy, tasty and energetic. Go for Bronte DOPO 100% !
