Product Description

    Tasting notes

A lively ruby red, the wine shows aromas of white peaches and fresh red berry fruit. It is ripe and round on the palate but with a solid structure and a pleasurably tonic and mineral finish.

The picking of the grapes began around the middle of the month of September. After the destemming and pressing of the bunches, carried out as gently as possible in order protect the quality level of the grapes, the must and its skins fermented for ten days in stainless steel tanks. Immediately after this phase, the wine went into oak casks, where it went through a complete malolactic fermentation and aged for four months before being prepared for bottling.

    Historical data

The La Braccesca estate extends over an overall surface of 418 hectares (approximately 1,032 acres) and consists of two separate blocks: the historic nucleus of the property, with 252 acres (102 hectares) of vineyards is located in Montepulciano, while the second part, with some 380 acres (154 hectares) of vineyards, is situated in the foothills of the city of Cortona. The first vintage of La Braccesca’s Rosso di Montepulciano was the 1992. The wine takes its name from Sabatino Lulli, known as “Sabazio”, a monk of the abbey of Montepulciano who, during the Middle Ages, gave the first indications of how to ferment and age the wines of this southeastern part of Tuscany.
