Grapes: Passerina grapes.
Vinification: In the absence of skins, with debourbagedei must and fermentation at controlled temperature.
Characteristics: The color is pale yellow. The nose gives hints of fruit, green apple, which matures evolve towards the acacia and broom. The taste is fruity, pleasant and persistent.
Serving suggestions: Ideal with dishes based on fish and light dishes.
Serving temperature: Serve at a temperature of 10/12gradi.

    Details

    Where grapes grow

    Marche, land on the border with Abruzzi, Umbria and Romagna: a region characterized by hills that gently follow the river valleys to the Adriatic Sea.
    In this area, particularly suited to agriculture, oozes old scents of good land and sea. Despite its 494m. altitude, Ripatransone is very close to the coast and is one of the oldest and most important centers of the Piceno.
    Inhabited in prehistoric times, took the urban at the end of the ninth century: Transone, a local noble, inherited the feud and gathered in one circle the castle town of Monte Antico, Capodimonte, Roflano and Agello.
    In 1205 he was already a free county. In 1571 it had reached such a splendor as to be elevated to the status of a city by Pope Pius V. Ripatransone is known for its historical and artistic heritage, and its medieval urban system. Its excellent location from which the view extends uninterrupted from the mountains to the sea, got the nickname "Belvedere del Piceno".

    History

    Cantina dei Colli Ripani was founded in 1969 from the need of a group of farmers, in order to protect and enhance their wine production.
    In 1977 took place the first wine production of the farmers  (around 100 at that time). Since then the growth has been constant; up to now more than 400 members for a surface area of about 850 hectares.
    The vineyards are located in Ripatransone and neighboring countries at an average altitude of 350 m above sea level in hilly area of Piceno: particularly suited for quality of soils and microclimate. The wide variety of grapes, soil and exposure, offers a wide choice and a careful selection of the best grapes.

    Philosophy

    Improve the quality of wines, always maintaining an excellent balance between the right price and a quality product enjoyable by the large majority of people. Respect for the health, welfare and people's tastes. Maintain the link with the territory and its wine culture, so that the products of the winery are always witnesses of the ancient art of making it.
    Direct sale from the producer to the consumer, through Byitaly, helped in creating  the "Short Chain"finally, to offer high quality at right prices. These are the pillars of the philosophy of Cantina Colli Ripani.

    The production

    Nowadays Cantina Colli Ripani produces about 750,000 bottles of wine.

    Awards and Recognition

    The high quality of the wines is underlined by several Awards and Recognition obtained, either in Italy (“Guida dei Vini italiania”), or at the International level with thw “Gold Medal”at the prestigious Prix in Germany "Mundus Vini 2010" with the Rosso Piceno Area "Castellano" DOC 2006.

    Byitaly selection

    We have selected the line of wines called Pharus, which represents the excellence of the production of Cantina Colli Ripani. The wines come from grapes selected from vineyards of selected wine cellars, and are coming from different vintages.
    A considerable effort is dedicated to improving the quality of the product starting from the drastic reduction in yield per hectare in order to trestructuring the vineyards and carefully select the best grapes for wine-making with modern technology and techniques, and at the end get aging the product in oak barrels and barriques. The quality standard is guaranteed by UNI EN ISO 9001:2008.
