Polenta is obtained from a mixture of water, cereal flour (maize and yellow maize are the most common in Europe) and salt, cooked in a pot for at least an hour. The flour is usually stone-minced in little grounds. Generally speaking, italian polenta might be served on the table in a circular axis covered with a rag; then depending on its consistency it can be cutted in slices from bottom to top and served with a tablespoon.
