    HISTORY OF THE FAMILY:

    Gatti Francesco&Sons was founded in 1959 by Francesco Gatti together with his sons Antonio, Ferdinando, Renato and other members of the family with common rural origins.  The Gatti family, motivated by strong ambition and a total commitment to work, decided to take over the mill established in Macchie in the 1920s - close to the town of Castiglione del Lago, Perugia. 

    During the 1980s Molino Gatti decided to expand their business again. The aim was to increase their share of the market in food compounds such as the flours. They decided to invest in state-of the-art machinery and new plants. Gatti Francesco and Sons purchased a plot of land, a mill and grain silos close to its head office. The mill’s output was 1,200 quintals per day. The ten grain silos had a storage capacity of 100,000 quintals of grain.

    The mill is located, between the countryside around Lake Trasimeno and the wonderful Tuscan hills. This investment enabled the company to source the majority of its production needs from high quality, locally harvested grain. The new generation of Francesco Gatti’s family takes great pride in continuing to work in the traditions of family values, reliability and commitment to reputation handed down to them by the founders.

    The high quality flours continuously undergo both qualitative and quantitative laboratory tests. Different blends of grain have been produced by using special equipment and time to research 100% natural flours easily digestible. Nowadays these flours represent the excellence for Italian bakery products worldwide recognized such as bread, pasta, pastries, pizzas and many other similar products.
